I loved this book! It's based on a true story of a mill girl working in 1832. It's a fabulous book--highly recommend!!

The Daring Ladies of Lowell by Kate Alcott is set in the textile factories of Lowell, Massachusetts, considered a hub of the Industrial Revolution in the United States. The book speaks to the factory working conditions and to the role of the Mill girls who worked in those factories. The story centers around Alice Barrow, a single, strong, independent young woman who flees her New Hampshire home to become a Mill girl.
