So far I've enjoyed all of these. The woman in this one is a tad annoying but not enough to keep me from finishing the book.

This book is beautiful, sensuous and downright amazing.
Cristine Feehan's writing draws the reader in to the point like it seems as though you are right there were everything is happening. Amazing, glorious read.

This human female is turned Carpathian without her consent. She finds the change difficult to accept. Her mate was close to becoming vampire, but accidentally turned her when he thought she was vampire and nearly killed her himself. Guilt without remorse was his constant companion. How could he regret finding his own savior, his lifemate?

This is one of my favorites yet in the Carpathian series! THe cat-and-mouse game between Alex and Aiden remind me of Jake and Emma in Burning Wild. Aiden tries to give Alex time to get used to her surroundings and "courts" her instead of demanding her to be with her.

These books are highly addictive.

That being said, they feature consistently bad writing, occasional lapses into very purple prose, one-dimensional characters, and highly improbable sex. (In physics there is something known as the law of diminishing returns.... Let's say that you are a Carpathian blood sucker who starts off with a full topped off tank of blood. You and your sweetie pie keep getting on. She is hungry for BLOOD, you feed her, and then she feeds you, and then you feed her, and then she feeds you. Eventually one of you ought to be dead of starvation.)

But, I'll keep reading them, since I think they are hysterically funny.

Formulaic? Did I mention formulaic?

You are welcome to disagree with me. I keep reading them because they are utterly hilarious.

Alexandria Houton would sacrifice anything -- even her life -- to protect her orphaned little brother. But when both encountered unspeakable evil in the swirling San Franciso mists, Alex could only cry to heaven for their deliverance..

And out of the darkness swooped Aidan Savage, a golden being more powerful, more mysterious, than any other creature of the night. The ageless Carpathian mail snatched them from a hideous fate. But was Aidan a miracle..or a monster? Alex's salvation..or her sin? If she surrendered to Aidan's savage, unearthly seduction -- gave him the color, the light, the family he craved -- would Alex truly save her brother? Or sacrifice more than her life?
