Anyone else read this one yet?  I finished it today and really enjoyed it.  The back cover - heroine is a tabloid reporter?? - gave me pause, but I just love the stories about Harmony and all the alien technology and psy talents.  Elvis, the dust bunny in this one, was just precious. The tidbits about them always practically steal the storyline.  Jayne Castle is so creative.  In the back of the book, she prints the first chapter of her next release Running Hot due out in December.  It's an Arcane book. Now I can't wait for that one!

DARK LIGHT (Jayne Castle)
Ghost Hunters, Book 5
Mass Market Paperback - 320 pages
On Sale August 26,2008
Jove Books; ISBN-10: 051514519X ISBN-13: 978-0515145199

Everything is different underground. Just ask the residents of Harmony, a futuristic world where alien catacombs can lead you astray—and where psychic senses spark out-of-this-world passion...

Reporter Sierra McIntyre's stories on Crystal City's ghost hunters—and their mysterious guild—have earned her tabloid a bit of respect. And they've allowed her to clothe her dust bunny companion Elvis in rock-and-roll style. It helps that she has mega-rez intuition to fall back on...

Especially when she interviews Ghost Hunter Guild Boss John Fontana about the disappearances of retired, homeless hunters. She doesn't want to trust the physically and psychically powerful man, but her senses—and Elvis—give her the green light. To uncover the conspiracy within his own organization, Fontana proposes...marriage. And though it's purely a business arrangement, there is nothing pure about the attraction that sizzles between them...

I enjoyed it too.  I really like the Harmony books, and she always does a great job developing characters.

I just started the Harmony Series and am still on Book #1.  I do have all books except this last one.  I like to have whatever I can find of a series before I start it.  Drives me nuts to have to wait for the next book to come out!!   I really like it so far and like everyone else, I really like the "dust bunnies".

Norma K - you'll definitely enjoy the dust bunny Elvis (complete with sparkly white cape and sunglasses) when you get to this one!  I liked the human characters, but I could have had about 100 more pages of Elvis!  Then again, he does get the last 'word" in this book. I won't give it away - but it's a cute ending.

Thank you!  I now have something to look forward to.  This is the first time for me to read a Jayne Castle book.  I read all her books under Jayne Ann Krentz and have collected quite a few of her books in HC because I like to read them over and over again.  Of course I am now trying to "downsize" my collection so I am listing many of her older books for trade so someone else can enjoy.  Really like her Arcane collection.

I have liked all of her books in this series!  Keepers for me:)   Love dust bunnies too.  Elvis was a hoot!

I especially like to read her when I've OD'd on more serious books or books loaded with wild sex.   These are very tame (sexually) by today's standards but still a really good story.
