This witty, sexy romance finds a formerly high-profile PR agent, Emma Tremayne, trying to convince the local mountain rescue team that a "nudie" calendar - featuring the team members - would be the perfect way to raise the funds necessary for the much-needed renovations to their rescue station. She assures the now nervous team that by nude, she means that they will be undressed but covered (think of the film Calendar Girls and youll get a basic sense of the plot). She manages to convince all but team leader Will Tennant, who thinks it will turn their team into a laughingstock. Will reluctantly agrees to participate after being voted down by the other team members.

Emma is in the Lake District by choice: she caught her boyfriend sleeping with her boss and, through an amusing confrontation, lost her PR job in London. She needs the calendar to succeed to prove to herselfand anyone elsethat she is still good at her job. She and Will clash immediately, primarily due to her stubbornness and his avoidance of anything close to commitment. His fiancée jilted him years ago at the altar, and since then hes developed a Casanova-like reputation in Bannerdale.

Emmas character is a fish-out-of-water, which was endearing. She exudes confidence and sweetness in equal measure, but she cant see through her past to realize that shes falling for Will (and he for her). Will is tall, strong, and sexy, but he measures all women against his fiancée, and studiously avoids getting too involved. The couple clash and then make up repeatedly, but this isnt love: its infatuation coupled with lust.

I liked the story. Dating Mr. December is an entertaining contemporary romance with lovely descriptions of Englands Lake District. This book was also apparently made into a Lifetime movie starring Kristen Chenoweth, which I havent seen yet.
