It's too hard to rate one book of a series; akin to rating a chapter within a book. That said, this is one of the better series I've read in a long time. Like Robin Hobb, Carol Berg does a great job of developing her characters and writes extremely well. It was difficult to put the books down once I began, and I would recommend to anyone starting this saga to have all four books available when you begin. I will definitely look into other books Berg has written.

Carol Berg has become one of my favorite authors, and this book is one of the reasons. I really love her characters, they really come to life for me. This is the fourth book in the D'Arnath series. It was captivating and I hardly put it down until I was done.
