David Debin is an American writer and former producer.

His father was a talent agent, and after graduating from Adelphi University, Debin began his career in Hollywood as a writer for The Dating Game and The Newlywed Game.

Debin was a versatile force on the Hollywood scene during the 1970s and 1980's. He wrote screenplays such as Goldie and the Boxer and the TV series Harts of the West (starring Beau Bridges). He was also producer for movies such as The Star Maker (with Rock Hudson), and The Kitty O'Neill Story.

Debin contributed lyrics to the ill-fated Paul Jabara Broadway musical Rachael Lily Rosenbloom

After his Hollywood years, Debin turned to writing books. His mystery series, featuring the character Albie Marx in three books, focused on life in Los Angeles and Hollywood. He has also published several non-fiction books.

Debin also is co-founder of The Third Age Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to assisting people with life transitions during The Third Age of life. As part of that effort, he co-hosts a radio show about The Third Age with Dr. Peter Brill and actress Anne Francis.

He teaches creative writing at Antioch University in Santa Barbara and at Santa Barbara City College.
