A good book for those who have a deeper interest in the Civil War. The author describes the failure of Southern leadership in an interesting discussion of Confederate President Jefferson Davis and his interactions with his generals in the Eastern Theater of the war.

One main point the author makes, toward the end of the book, is how Davie and Robert E. Lee continued the fighting once they knew the war was lost and the Southern people were tired of fighting, and how two ineffective general, Johnston and Beauregard where human enough to disobey Davis's order to continue fighting when both knew they would just be sending men to their deaths for no reason.
