wasn't sure what to expect with this series. i shoulda read it sooner.....it's lora leigh!!1 what was i thinking! good read.
I really enjoy reading the Breeds series. You can read each out of order and you loose nothing. This one in particular I enjoyed it because of the view point from a woman. It made for a great strong romance. Looking forward to the next in the series.
Didn't like this book at all. I can deal with a character having been horrifically abused for most of her/his life if the cycle breaks completely at some point and he/she is desired and cherished and treated with respect and courtesy. In addition to Dawn's horrible upbringing, Seth brings about the mating heat when she's young, abandons her as soon as he's told by by others that that's what's best, blames her for not coming around to find HIM, and proceeds to have sexual affairs with a lot of other women. When Dawn realizes she's still stuck in the mating heat and only able to desire him he continues to reject her in favor of another woman until halfway through the book. She didn't even have the option of being with another man who'd actually fight for her and not throw in the towel to move on and be with other women because there's no cure for Breeds the way there is for humans. Hated this book. With the way she was treated by him, the only reason I can see them being together in the end is because she (unlike the "hero" ) has no other choice.
