Like a lot of people, I read this almost every Lent. The attention to detail is amazing and so interesting, and it makes the Passion of Christ just come alive. Even if a lot of detail cannot be substantiated, a good arguement is made as to why it probably is fact. And it gives a wonderful history lesson on what was going on in that area of the world when Christ walked the Earth.
