This is one of the best books I've ever read. A story of three grandmothers raising their grandchildren who become the best of friends throughout very difficult circumstances. Warning though - the character of Lily is one of the most unlikeable fictional characters I've ever come across. I literally found myself wanting to strangle her. But the main characters are wonderful and I found so many wonderful little nuggets of faith in Parr's writing, I was actually copying them down in my quote book.
