Hi, folks.
I'm looking for a sympathetic ear, here. I was in line to receive the anthology Dead After Dark, but the sender did not respond in time, so my request was cancelled. In theory, I am supposed to be added back into the queue (at the bottom - #363!!!), but the system failed me. I was so looking forward to this book, that I obsessively checked my WL and noticed that it wasn't returned to the list. I waited, thinking maybe the system just hadn't caught up yet, but when it didn't show up after a few hours, I manually re-added it... at the bottom of the line... :( If anyone has this book and would like to post it to me as a nice gesture, I promise I will read it fast and get it back into circulation!
Thanks for reading,
Lorien
PS I did notify PBS of this error.
Update: I received a notice that I am now at the top of the list of 390!!! No need to send this to me as I can wait... I think. :) Last Edited on: 12/22/08 12:56 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Don't worry, the book was crappy, not worth being obsessed over. |

Ashely is right. It wasn't that good. The only story that I liked was Sherrilyn Kenyon's "Shadow of the Moon". It was about Wolf, Vane's brother. I really liked Vane's story and was waiting for Wolf & Fang's stories to come out. The other 3 were not worth reading. |

I'm so glad everything worked out and you will get it soon. I do have to admit, that like Ashley and Norma, it wasn't my favorite. Some people really did like JR Ward's story, but I found it creepy, not in a good way. Also, I'm not sure how this happened in Caldwell without anyone from the main books even getting a suspicion. I wanted to like Kenyon's story, because I love the character of Fury, but it just seemed like she crammed what should have been a whole novel into a novella, much to its detriment. I'm glad I read the story, but I felt no qualms about sending it on when I was done. I didn't even actually finish the last two stories. Last Edited on: 12/23/08 9:00 AM ET - Total times edited: 2 |

I hated Kenyon's the most. I wanted the woman (can't even call her a heroine) to die a bloody death. I feel jipped for Fury, I wanted him to get a really good book...and he got crapped on. About the Ward story, I thought it was the best of the book (but not great by any means) and i wondered too how it all happened there without the BDB guys knowing something. |

I agree that Fury got jipped in his story - he should have had a full story. Maybe could have been a little more sympathetic to Angelia if the story would have gone back to her beginning with Fury..... Also have to wonder from JR Ward's story whether or not it was supposed to be part of the BDB stories... weird that none of the brotherhood even showed up. Question: Has anyone even seen the latest JR Ward book "Black Dagger Brotherhood An Insider's Guide". Can't find it on PBS site and have never seen it in the stores. |

I just finished the book Dead after Dark. I like Sherrilyn Kenyon, J.R.Ward and Dianna Love stories. Before I did not like J.R.Ward's book, but the story in this one "The Story of Son" was great. Had a good ending to it. I had never read any of Dianna Love's stories, but like "Midnight Kiss Goodbye". And of course Sherrilyn Kenyon story of Fury was great. The book is well worth the price I paid for it. Plus, it took it off my wish list and put someone else closer to receiving it. Will be putting mine on next time I load books on to my bookshelf. |
