IF YOU LIKED THE MOVIE SUSPECT, YOU'LL LOVE THIS
This book introduces Ms. Wheat's series with Cass Jameson. My criteria for mysteries are that they be fast-moving, filled with interesting characters, and snappy, believable dialogue. Ms. Wheat deserves high praise. No doubt her personal experiences contributed in no small measure to this high caliber debut. She infuses her cast of characters with savvy insights, bold action, and lively details. I finished it in 24 hours!

Attorney Cass Jameson working in Brooklyn for Legal Aid was sometimes discouraged by the down-and-out characters she represents, but she could always turn to her friend and fellow lawyer Nathan. His murder sets her off on adangerous and devastating search for the truth among the courts, the streets and the jail.
No-nonsense reality and eye-opening look into the legal mind and court system in New York.
