A fun, fast read- just what Davidson is known for! I enjoyed this collection of novellas a lot more than her last one. The Queen Betsy one was good, but a bit of a letdown (especially since I loved Undead & Uneasy, the novella takes place a few days after that book ends.) Betsy and Eric are on their honeymoon in New York- and it's just not as relaxing as they'd hoped! The mermaid one was cute, it's set in the world of her other mermaid books but completely stands alone. The Wyndham werewolf story featuring Cain was a lot of fun and had a great (and unique!) relationship between the two leads. There's references to Cain's role in "Undead and Uneasy" which added to the fun, in my opinion. Again, if you read the past Wyndham stories you'll get more of the references, but it still stands alone nicely if you haven't. The first story is basically a short mystery and the other two are simply fun, romantic events that take place in a paranormal setting. I just wish these would be released a bit cheaper- they're always super short and read even faster!

This has to be the worst book I have EVER read. It was very juvenile, amateurish writing that took me less than two hours to read it. Why I finished it, I don't really know. I guess I hoped it would get better but it didn't. I do admit, I have never read anything by this author before this book and I know I will NEVER read anything by her again. I got it because it looked funny, the back was more interesting than the entire book. The first story about "The Vampire Queen" that no one thinks is worthy of the title, is ridiculous with nothing really interesting, including the raunchy sex scenes that were really in poor taste. The mermaid story was terrible and extremely boring, so the guy likes chubby women, that's great but don't bore me! The third story about the werewolf looking for love because of some stupid pact was probably the best of the three stories, if you can even give it that. The weird dates she had were almost amusing but very dry and had absolutely no substance. The whole book was a real disappointment.

Completely enjoyed all three stories in this book.
They were the MJD classics that I have come to know and love.
Reading about Betsy and Sinclair's honeymoon was great. I always enjoy the Wyndham Wolves and I am a huge fan of best friends falling in love. The Mermaid story was a lot of fun, especially since I just finished the two 'Fred the Mermaid' books right before reading it.
Love MJD's anthologies when I am in the mood for some fun, light reading. She always delivers.
