So I saw this in the bookstore and had to get it since I'm loving True Blood on HBO.

I'm about 1/3 of the way in and I am completely amazed at how close the show is following the book! Even a lot of the dialogue is present in the book and the show! Very surprising and it's making reading the book and watching the show much more enjoyable! :)

Though...Tara hasn't come into the book yet and she's been on the show since day 1...I keep waiting for her to show up...

the Tara /Sam thing never happened in the book and Tara is not in it as much as she is in the show.  Plus that whole Jason taking V never happened either.  I loved the books and I am enjoying the show, it does follow along enough with how the books are to keep me happy.

Have you met Eric in the books yet? Do you think he is like the actor they got in the show?

hmm no, no Eric yet. I'm only in Chapter 3...she about to go into Dawn's house. I'll let you know what I think when I get a little further :)

Does the first book explain about Sam? I'm totally dieing to know what's happening with him!

I hope they have Bubba in the tv series :) Bubba is my favorite character.

I don't remember if Tara is even in the first book. I think she doesn't show up until the second one.

I'm not at all thrilled with the TV Eric. He's my favorite character from the books, and I'm so disappointed with the casting. Maybe he'll grow on me, but I don't hold out much hope. Bill however is totally HOT in the show!!!

so I stayed up until 1 am last night to finish the first book. i LOVE it!

Okay, Eric....He's only been in one episode so far so I'll be interested to see how the actor does. I think he looks right though...from what I remember...I think his episode was a couple weeks ago.

Now Sam, I think I like the TV Sam a lot...I like the way he looks better than how he's described in the book...but it's still close and I TOTALLY KNEW HE WAS DIFFERENT!! my cousin and I have been debating about the whole dog thing and I'm happy to say we are right!

The actor playing Bill is great I think!

Tara wasn't in the first book at all. but I understand why the show would have her there...Sookie needs a friend. Tara's character would allow them to show things about Sookie that they might not have been able to otherwise...so I see why she's there. It's not a mistake that's going to put me out or anything.

I'm also glad that I'm not going crazy about thinking Renee is kinda funny...I was wondering if it was just me or if they were really trying to make him stand out....hmmmm

well I loved it! gotta go get #2 now :)
