A puzzle mystery with satisfying twists and turns. Interesting commentary on the commercialization of spirituality; a fun plot.

Even though I vaguely remembered some of the story from the PBS movie, I still was anxious to read this book. It is a great read. The characters are very full, many with motive to have done the deed. The small island and its inhabitants, a spring rumored to have healing power, and the prosperity brought to the island by others searching for cures for what ails them... all are part of Inspector Alleyn's puzzle.Inspector Alleyn is also uncharacteristically involved in an action-packed pursuit of a suspect and is injured. I enjoyed it very much!
