Attorney Brady Coyne gets a call in the middle of the night from his client, the Reverend Desmond Winter. Winters daughter in law is found murdered and Winter's son is the chief suspect although he has not yet been arrested. A man leaves a message on Brady's machine. He is later found dead before he gets to tell Brady why he called. Are the two cases related, and if so how? In this book there is the missing wife of the Reverend Winters, murder, cheating spouses (it was an "open" marriage) incest, cover-up, adoption and suicide. Whodunnit and why? Lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending. Good read.
