I just feel that way!

Hello HFFs (Historical Fiction Fans). It is your long lost buddy Marci G.  Things have been crazy here since August but I am making my way back little by little. The upside to my downturn is that I've finished some great books and will be posting them shortly (Finally finished the Plantagenet series by JP - whew. I have the last 3 books to post and some others).

Hope you're all well. I have some catching up to do in the HF forums to get me up to date.

Have missed it here.

MG

Thanks. I'm feeling better gallstone wise. Changed my whole diet and that is under control. Then I developed a serious ear infection and I've had vertigo for a few months now and can't get the tubes in my ears to clear. Ugh, it's been awful feeling dizzy constantly.

BUT, I am feeling better slowly but surely and I'm glad to be able to spend more time doing the things I like to do online :-)

I've sure missed everyone and the great conversations I have here.

I got "The Other Queen" by Phillipa Gregory in the mail today. Any consensus yet?

I was just thinking about you yesterday! I'm glad you're back with us! For the vertigo: my doctor prescribes a supplement called T-Bio. It may be worth a try....

Thanks Lisa. I'll check that out. I've had vertigo for 11 years (non-positional benign vertigo). The ear infection has made it harder to control. It's so frustrating. I get severe headaches if I'm on the computer which is why I've begged off. I can usually control it just by adaption but having the eustation tube blocked is a drag. They've had me on and off antibiotics and Allegra D since September and yet the infection keeps coming back because the tube won't drain correctly. I don't have health insurance so it's been a costly ride....

This is probably really boring --lol. I'm back and I'm already boring you all!

Marci, how funny!  You came to my mind this morning.  I remembered that I hadn't seen you on PBS recently.  I'm glad to see that you are okay.

It's good to see you back, Marci!  And you'll be glad to hear that I am finally returning the book I borrowed from you.  -arggh-  Didn't mean to keep it for so long!

I had some problems with vertigo when I was younger, but not recently, knock on wood! They can be a real pain to deal with. Hope everything will clear up for you soon. Good luck!

Thanks Mimi - re Avatar -- that was last month. I figured it was time to update the last one which was now over a year old.

I hope you enjoyed the book Beverly. I had sent you a PM earlier today with my address.

Thank you all for the warm return. It's SO great to be back! :-)

Marci--

Good to see you again!

Has your doc tried the Epley Maneuver for your vertigo?  Hubby had a similar problem, and it was helpful for him; we eventually learned to do it at home (but the doc should do it first).

Cheers,

Catt

I have not had that maneuver done but I have had other treatments that were kind of similar. Mainly I was educated on ways to position my horizon line so that I don't lose my balance. I'm usually okay unless I have a sudden movement that I haven't calculated my points -- for instance, if someone calls my name out and I turn quickly without compensating for the sudden movement I will get sizzy or fall down(make sense? It's so difficult to explain). I also cannot look directly at a police or fire flashing lights or anything spinning or I will fall flat on my face. I had an eye test done recently where they had me look into a machine and there were different twisting shapes and colors. I wound up on the floor.

I was a figure skater when I was younger and they would teach simlar tricks for learning to spin without getting dizzy, so it wasn't very difficult for me to learn the horizon line excercises. If my ear is affected tho, I can't control it as easily.

Hi, Marci, welcome back!  I read TOQ, got it in an RAOK from Jennifer W----not up to snuff in my opinion, kind of lackluster....still an ok read, but not her best, IMHO.

Hi Colleen, I think I'll lend TOQ to my Mom before I read it as I have heard that and have other goodies to read first that I'm more excited about.
