Did you join primarily to swap children's books, or other genres?

Just wanted to say "HI" and introduce myself as a new member! Primarily,  I am interested in swapping children's books for my son, WAY MORE than I am for pelasure reading myself. So, I'm sure that puts me in smaller bracket--since it seems like most of the talked-about books aren't for children! And, I had one member tell me that s/he noticed a lot of children's books on my bookshelf; s/he said they tend to move a lot slower than other generes. What's your opinion???

Prior to having my son two years ago, I worked in daycare for MANY years, so I have inevitably come to know my share of children's books! I will surely have fun keeping an eye out for them at thrift stores and sales;) Thinking getting to know more of the adult genre authors would be a good idea, I got really ambitious and printed the top 50 wanted list--of course, all adult reads!!! I have to admit, I was soooo LOST! lol

I can't be the only member of the book club that has 99% children's books on her wish list, can I? I really hope I am not the only one who can name far more children's book authors than I can any other genre authors!!!

For all you children's book lovers out there, please confirm that I'm not the only "odd duck" here on PaperbackSwap!   ?????     :)

I joined for childrens books.  I do get a few other books, but mostly only childrens books.   You can narrow your search to childrens books and sort by relevance and # of wishes to get to top wished for childrens books.  You may want to narrow it down farther to age 4-8 also.  That way you could just look at picture books when you are at thrift stores.

I trade mainly in children's books.  I have over 400 on my shelf and getting ready to get rid of most of them in our fall cleaning!! (Yes, fall is coming!surprise)  I usually order children's books or maybe young adult so here is someone who wants children's books!

The youngest of my 5 children is 17 now, so I've been posting books that they have outgrown.

Hi Rochelle,

I joined with the idea of reducing the number of books in my house, but it hasn't worked like that.  I have mostly "swapped" my grown-up books for children's books for my son.  I have received many great deals from other members, so the number of books has increased - my 4 year old has 375.  I've tried to reduce that number, but he actually goes through phases where he enjoys most of them.  I'd reccomend pressing the button to "watch" the book deals in this forum.  I don't think children's books necessarily move slower, it's just that there are so many copies of them out there.  But, there are many popular ones that you will have to wait for.

I am a school librarian who trades mostly children's and young adult books for my school.  We also get lots of donations and what I can't use I will post.  90 percent or better on the shelf is in this genre.  Right now I am doing 3 for 1 on all my paperbacks for kids and YA's.  Check it out.

Like I said, most of what I have are children's books, but I am getting a list together of other genres! I just posted some waitlisted books in the "August WL for multiples" section of the Bazaar discussion forum. There are special rules to allow us to ship multiples with a wait list book and help save on shipping cost! Please check out my bookshelf and I will gladly mail you multiples from there along with a wish book! Some of my children's books are titles with only one copy in the system!!! I also have other children's books to go through yet, to check for postability and if my son likes them! LOL...."Tales of Virtue" & "Clifford Phonics Fun" books are 4 for 1 credit! PM me! ;)

Among what's available (Check out all of my WL list muliples in the Bazaar forum and PM me if interested!)

Cookie's Week :: Cindy Ward
ISBN-13: 9780399243257 - ISBN-10: 0399243259   Fits "golden rule" standards for the most part, except for tear off of front binding--BINDING COMPLETEY INTACT, THOUGH!

Frog and Toad Are Friends. by Arnold Lobel. ISBN doesn't match a wish list exactly, but it's one several wish lists in multiple titles; perhaps someone doesn't mind if the ISBN isn't exact to their wish list???

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! by Bill Martin Jr. I have two different copies--one with crayon near back of book, and another smaller version, which I have yet to find a ISBN # for....Both are paperback.

P.S. Get Disney books from me while you can!!! All are going in my garage sale over Labor Day weekend if not ordered!!!

When I joined the Box-o-Books there were people who wanted my childrens books that only had childrens books.  Since my son has outgrown childrens books, I could not trade with them.  If you want to truly "TRADE" books, check out the BoB.

I am doing a special 11 childrens books for 4 credits + 1 unpostable.  Check out my bookshelf if interested.
