Dean Trippe (born 1980) is a United States-based comic book artist and illustrator. Raised on a farm in rural North Georgia, Trippe currently lives with his wife in Nashville, Tennessee. Trippe graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a B.F.A. in Sequential Art, studying under Professor Bob Pendarvis.

Trippe's published work includes contributions to several comic anthologies, including You Ain't No Dancer and the 2005 FLUKE Anthology. He has done work for Viper Comics' titles such as The Middleman. His most popular work to date is the ongoing webcomic Butterfly, which made its first print appearance in April 2006's Superior Showcase #1 from AdHouse Books. Also in April, it was announced that Trippe had joined the online comics collaborative Act-i-vate, and would be contributing a weekly serialized comic called Wake.

Along with Jamie Dee Galey, Trippe was also one of the instigators of the 2005 Batgirl Livejournal Meme, which grew into a phenomenon of over 1000 artists contributing their own unique renditions of DC Comics' Batgirl. Following in this tradition, Trippe has become known for his stylish redesigns of popular American comic book characters. Inspired by this, Trippe has also founded Project Rooftop, a website devoted to original redesigns of classic American comic book characters.

Trippe collaborated with Jason Horn on an entry for Image Comics' Comic Book Tattoo, an anthology graphic novel inspired by the songs of musician Tori Amos. He is currently working on the graphic novel The Lion of Rora[1] from a script by Christos Gage & Ruth Gage for Oni Press.
