The Eclectic Pen - Dear John

Letter came that'd tell the tale
Of love that'd grown or gone stale
Heart pounded as envelope ripped
Letter read, mind adrift
Trust betrayed and mind in shock
Emotions dashed upon the rocks
Can't understand what planted the seed
In rocky soil with many weeds
No hope to grow tall and strong
No melody written for the song
To love and forgive is the command
On His power I will stand
Peace settles into my mind
The Lord my God is so kind

I don't think you could have explained betrayal in a better light.
