This book is compiled by Johnny Carson's "correspondents", that is, glorified mail-openers and -answerers. There's a reason the authors of this book were not given a staff writing job for The Tonight Show. Their responses are not that clever and the letters they chose to spotlight are mostly a gathering of letters that make it seem that a disproportionate amount of Johnny's viewers were slow witted, poor spellers and folks that were not in close proximity to reality. Small wonder Johnny wrote what is certainly in the running for the shortest foreword ever. I was quite disappointed and saddened. And it reminds me how much I miss Johnny. Sigh.

It's amazing the topics and subjects people wrote to Johnny about and just how many were from the unbalanced. Most were critical and at that I was disapointed.
