I found this story a little odd.

A mother sends her young daughter into the woods to be safe from apparent war and tells her to return in three days. In the woods the child finds and stays with "Saint Joseph, who long ago had cared for the Christ Child". After 3 days the child returns home, but what does she find?

The story is, after all, by Wilhelm Grimm.

The illustrations by Maurice Sendak are GORGEOUS!
