I really enjoyed this second book in the Welcome to Pardonville series. This series is a nice read. It is an easy read with a solid Christian theme throughout. Nothing pushy as far as religion but it is definitely encouraging. A good read for any mother looking for a break from the hub-bub of everyday life.

For the legions of readers who enjoy books that celebrate lifes simple pleasures, eighty-seven-year-old Dorothy Jean Wetstra and her beloved farming town of Partonville, Illinois, will become instant favorites. In this hilarious, touching series, Charlene Ann Baumbich introduces readers to Dearest Dorothy, who tools around town in a 1976 Lincoln Continental nicknamed "The Tank," plays bunco regularly with her pals, and grabs a stool at Harrys counter often enough to stay on top of the latest-breaking newswhich she is often creating. In the series debut, Dearest Dorothy, Are We There Yet?, Dorothy faces a decision that may change her town forever, and her gift for shaking things up comes in handy. In the second book, Dearest Dorothy, Slow Down, You're Wearing Us Out!, the towns irresistible cast of characters is back in full swing as they confront some of the many surprises life sends their way. So pull up a chair and get ready for fireworks, laughter, and well-get-through-it-all-with-faith friendships.

What a wonderful book! Not deep and intellectual, just a neat little story that will hold you from start to finish.

I LOVE Dearest Dorothy!! If you enjoy the Mitford books by Jan Karon, you should like this one, too. Small town setting, unique, lovable (well, mostly!) characters, with faith as their saving grace.
Easy reading, but not shallow, IMO. Just the right thing for a "mental vacation". :-)

Enjoyable reading despite the fact that it is about an older woman who has to face the reality that she cannot do the things she used to do. She adjusts to the new realities in her life.

I read Book One, thinking it a bit naive...innocent...couldn't get through Book Two...I just couldn't relate that to any reality in today's world.....maybe thats the point?

Enjoyable story of eighty-seven-year old DOrothy Wetstra. As the author says, "she lives life flat out".

In the town of Partonville, where not many people relish change, Dorothy is a refreshing breath of fresh air.

Good one!

These were six of the best books I've read. They're funny and also make you cry. It's like a town you're right in. Also I love the parts about faith and prayers. It would be a wonderful place to live. This author did a great job; I hope she will write some more about Pardon me ville.
