Old fashioned English mystery. My favorite. And one of my favorite authors.

It was to be a grand house party, thrown by a jaded millionaire with a taste for the extravagant. A gala event--complete with sherry and cocktails, sparkling conversation, and a guest list overflowing with the host's mortal enemies. One and all were anticipating a delightful evening. But unfortunately, a murder put a damper on the affair, and the party died along with the victim.
And thus, Inspector Alleyn received a late invitation to a decidedly unsocial function--an affair where all the guests had reasons to play a dedly game of charades.
