There was enough of interest in the girl's being on trial to bring young Nap Rumbold to her assistance. And Nap went to his friend Major McCann, who consulted with Inspector Hazlerigg of Scotland Yard.
"I think you must leave this thing alone," Hazlerigg earnestly advised.
But Nap and McCann wouldn't, and were, shortly thereafter, immersed in extraordinary and dangerous adventures.« less
