This is a terrific book about a murder in an English Village pub. It is set in late 1939 at the beginning of World War II. If you like English mysteries with atmospheric settings, you will enjoy this book.

Second and last book featuring Northeast is another pleasant trip to 1930's England. There seems to be no shortage of people who'd like to have killed the victim, so it's opportunity that is the focus. A map of the pub's layout helps.
