This is a fine mystery featuring retired Toronto policeman Mel Pickett. I wish there were more books in this series.

I was so looking forward to this book but it didn't live up to my expectations. The first book was much better. Must admit I am a bit jaded with the amount of reading that I do. "Death of a Hired Man" held my attention but it seemed like the story didn't move along as quickly as I've gotten use to. Don't let my review stop you from reading this book because anything that Eric Wright writes is better than most ;o)))
