My husband urged me to read this book. He's a comic fan like most boys, and I really have no interest in such things, but it was the only book I've ever seen him read cover to cover. So I figured if it kept his interest maybe it would strike mine. Wow what a surprise. I really enjoyed this book, and to a lacky in the comic history, I learned a lot about Supermans history. This book helped create a new bond with my husband

I bought and read this book a number of years ago and still have it on my shelf. I also made my son read it despite the fact that he is too young to really have been into the heyday of comics. We both loved this book. The plot and writing are superb. The action is great and even if you had no clue about comic book superheroes in general or Superman in specific this would still be a great read.

Probably one of the most extraordinary stories I've read in a long time. SO great, tried getting my girlfriend to read it.. maybe some day.

Really loved how they tied the whole thing together, growing up as a kid loving superman.. this one hit every mark.
Would love to read another if there was =-)

Bought this book new back around 1994, read it and then placed it on my shelf. Just finished re-reading it and enjoyed it just the same as the first time. The whole Superman is dead angle that DC pulled off in the comics was a monetary explosion for them and its good to have a novelized version that puts it all in one very enjoyable book t read. I believe that one would not even have to be a fan of the Superman comics to enjoy this book, I was however curious on how some artist depicted the alternate Supermen and the villains so kept my iphone handy to search for different images. Do yourself a favor a read or re-read this book.
