I'm actually reading two - "The Norton Cat Trilogy" but because it's 800+ pages, I can't carry it around, so that's night-stand only. The other is "White Bikini Panties."

How is "Over the Holidays"? I am about to get out my little pile of holiday books too. I'm still reading the 800+ trilogy with "The Cat Who Came for Christmas" in it, but that's too big to lug around, so I just started the 2nd Cate Padgett trilogy by Whitney Lyles, "Here Comes the Bride."

Unfortunately, Over the Holidays was just okay for me..I didn't really connect with any of the characters and there was too much going on with different "plots" being rushed.  But other people seemed to like it, so maybe its just me

Wait a minute!

Virginia M. - How do you win something on "Library thing"????

I have belonged to LT for a long time and haven't seen where you can win books.

on Library thing, there are 2 kinds of "giveaways" one is the Early Reviewer's program http://www.librarything.com/er/list, where you have to review the book. the other is the member giveaways http://www.librarything.com/er/giveaway/list

Oh and I haven't had the best luck with the LT giveaways. One book (supposedly a cozy mystery) came and the cover was correct but inside was a romance novel. Um yeah. Then I have been waiting close to 2 months for a A Field Guide to Burying Your Parents.

I've had much better luck on GoodReads. The books come within 2 weeks, and only 2 out of the actual 5 I've won have been ARCs. The others have been the actual book.

Me either, but then, I've never entered. :-) I do enter the Free Book Friday on occasion when it's something I would read (I don't enter if I don't want the book).

Now I've started "First Comes Marriage" - the 3rd Cate Padgett book. This series is really sweet!

Deborah K. -
Thanks for the info! I knew about the early reviewers, but didn't know about member giveaways.

Do you guys know about this site - The Booktrib Giveaway  they give away books every week.

You choose one of five different books each week, sometimes there is a real good book, sometimes nothing good.

But I check every week.

I read Mrs. Perfect before Odd Mom Out by accident.  I loved them both and just got word from the library that Easy on the Eyes is there for me.  I can't wait!

I love Jane Porter! Easy on the Eyes is en route to me now! :)

As for Goodreads...I think you have to be fairly active there to win books. I just keep up with my TBR list and books I've read there and rate books (just give them stars). Once I win a book, I read it as soon as it comes and then write a review (they look to see if you write reviews), and I think that has contributed to me winning several. I had an ARC show up today. I have no clue where it's from.

I'm reading Mommy By Mistake by Rowan Coleman. It's more serious than most chick lit, so it might fit into contemporary fiction genre better. I'm enjoying it so far :)

Virginia--I am pretty active there---I put every book I get in the mail on my bookshelf and I post a review and rating of every book I read there too....

oh well :)

I'm reading Flirting with forty now...i would get Mrs. Perfect or Odd Mom Out but they are literally at the bottom of my TBR pile and that would have involved heavy removal and shifting lol.
