A complex, intriguing tale that keeps one paging quickly. Lot, 18, is Jupiter's son. Jupiter Apolinario was a charismatic cult-type leader who believed that the world existing 200 miles below the city of Silk is a place where he and his followers would find "ecstatic communion." He and his followers battle Silken security forces to reach the well. Most of the group dies but Jupiter is never found. His believers are certain that Jupiter has reached the world below Silk. As a result, Jupiter's son, Lot, lives a controlled life within the city. As he turns 18, he wants to know the truth and what really happened to his father. The ensuing adventure makes for a fascinating read - exciting, adventurous and unpredictable. This is a great book for fantasy readers and what eventually happens to Lot and his best friend is totally unexpected.
