Hi! I recently joined. I have 13 books to send out but it will be 2 weeks until I have money to send all of them. I was not thinking when I joined people would want so many of my books and need to send them so soon. I don't want to be deemed a bad member and I want the members to get their books.

Sounds like you need to cancel the requests nad put your account on vacation.

Unless they still have days left before you accept-then you might be able to accept at the last minute and then choose the longest mailing option (5 days plus 2 days to makr mailed)

Yeah, I recommend accepting what you can afford to send and canceling the rest, that way those members have the chance to get the book from someone else in the next two weeks, and you can repost them when you can afford to send them.

This seems to be a pretty common issue with new members. One thing you can do to avoid this situation is put your account on hold when you have reached your postage budget for the time being. Another thing that helps is to know which of your books are wishlisted, and thus will be requested right away, before you post them. You can figure this out by typing the ISBN number into the search bar and looking the book up in the system before posting it.

Tonya - an easy way to overcome 'beginner's luck' is to put your books on your Reminder list first.  This will tell you how many books are already in the system.  If there are no books and the book happens to be WLd you can just keep it on your RL until you have money to send it out.  This way you're not overwhelmed with having to send out a lot of books at one time.  Good luck.  Pat

Know that you're not alone.  I'm a pretty new member too, and I've sent out 20-odd books in the last three or four weeks.  Just today, while standing in line at the PO to mail yet another book, I began to do a mental estimate of how much I've spent in postage. It was a pretty surprising amount.  Those multiple trips to the post office with three or four books each time add up quickly.

Fortunately, the requests have slowed noticeably in the last week or so.  As fun as it's been to get requests, I'm hoping that I'm at the end of the new-member rush.  My piggy bank hopes so too.

Tonya Welcome!

@ Tracy, but think about all of the credits you will have to get all those books you've been wanting!
