You can offer magazines as a freebie, but cannot offer them for trade, either credit or straight swap.

Most magazines have advertising, which aren't allowed to go Media Mail: http://www.paperbackswap.com/help/search.php?terms=media+mail

So I guess you can do it, if you also want to pay extra postage on top of no credit.
