I'm trying to delete this post, it should go somewhere else, sorry for the interruption! :-)

Thank you *so much* for your very, very helpful response! Its politeness was really appreciated. Especially for someone new to the posting area, coming from someone who obviously has posted an enormous amount of posts (all of which I'm sure were incredibly, incredibly relevant, spelled correctly, and concise)! You really should try to help more people, it's clearly one of your strong spots! Anyway, for anyone else this (quietly) bothered, I'm going to attempt to delete the post. It shouldn't be too much trouble, but if it is, I'm sure the Helpful Bloomer will have something snarky and useless to say about it!

Hi, Heather,

I feel your pain. I wish I could help you with the deleting part, but, alas, I am also new and have very little deleting skills.

However, I DO have warm and fuzzy skills, not to mention my deep devotion to the proverb "Don't sweat the small stuff. And remember, it's all small stuff."

So far I have found the majority of people on PBS to be wonderful, helpful, warm and fuzzy types. There are just  a few who seem to have taken on the responsibility of keeping us in line. Their number one rule seems to be POST IN THE RIGHT FORUM AND NEVER, NEVER, EVER DARE START A DISCUSSION THAT IS OFF TOPIC!! Oh, the shame of it all. They will whip us into shape if it kills them (do we dare wish that might happen??)

Anyway, dear one, I just HAD to reply back to you to interject my independence and thumb my nose at authority. I always was a rebel! Ha! The worst I ever did in high school was go out on  a one day strike when they fired a favorite coach. My mother TOLD me not to do that, but I did it anyway. Tsk tsk.

Good luck with the deleting. And if we have any fellow rebels, maybe they'll respond to this post and keep this high up in the listing for a while!

Jill

Oh, and btw, I'm keeping track of the authoritarians so that I make sure I never order from them. That's MY rule!

Am I missing something? She did say please and thank you. Very mild compared to some of the scoldings I've seen on other boards!!

There shouldn't be any scoldings at all. Aren't we supposed to play nice?

Heather and Jill, welcome to PBS.   I love it here, and hope you will, too.   I am addicted.   I have gotten lots of good books here, and for the most part, love the Forums.

Happy Reading,

Betsy

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who does this.  LOL  Heather, check around the forum. You'll see many "nothing here...carry on" posts with my name on them. :)

Betsy and Melody,

Even though I run the risk of being scolded, thanks for your replies! I do love it here and am quickly becoming addicted. I just don't love it when someone makes a mistake and immediately gets jumped on about it. Life's too short for that kind of nonsense!

Jill

I don't think what April posted qualifies as "being jumped on".  Heather's reply, on the other hand, was less than polite.

The Help Center has all the info anyone needs to know about the forums - what they are for, what type of posts go where, and all that good stuff.  The truth of the matter is, very few people read the Help Center, when in fact, it should be the first thing they do when they join.    There is absolutely nothing wrong with pointing someone to the appropriate place to post something.

Welcome New Swappers!

I agree with LG...most folks never even look at the Help Center.  A shame...

April is a regular around here, and I don't at all see how what she said was rude or jumping on anyone.  Again, she said please and thank you, and simply stated what this forum is to be used for.  It is too easy to read tone into or out of someone's printed words.  Even so, I just cannot see why anyone thinks she was jumping on anyone.  Let's be fair and play nice...
