I think most transactions now are done using PayPal.  There is no way to do the money part through the PBS system.  Most people ask for the money up front, and then transfer the credits.  You are definitely taking a risk.  Be sure to document everything through PM's.  PBS usually won't get involved in deals on the Bazaar, but if they had several reports of somebody scamming people in this way, they might.  Prices for credits vary and are set by the individuals who are selling.   If you find someone who sells them often, you can buy repeatedly from them and have some confidence in your track record with them.

It's safest to buy from someone who is an active member.  Look at their profile--do they have books coming and going?  Also, you might buy just a few credits at a time, to lessen the amount you'll be out if you get scammed.

Marsha, your post made me go look at my own profile to see what it looked like....1400 posts!  Wow!  I had no idea.

That's funny, Christa. :) I had clicked on your profile before posting my advice to make sure a profile said what I thought it did.  I was impressed by the 1400 posts, too.  You're definitely the type of member I would order credits from.

Good advice.  If you aren't familiar with members, then look for ones who have been here a while and are active.

ETA:  I've got 12,000+ :-O  - yeah, I'm pretty active here :-b

Oh yea, my 1400 posts are a puny drop in the bucket compared to a lot of people!

I only have 10 credits.  If my credits get too low I will definitely buy some.
