I don't use DC often, I used it a few times when I used PBS postage. I have a question. According to the Delivery Confirmation Events screen, the book was delivered on October 31, but it has still not been marked received by the PBSer I sent it to. Would you PM them and ask why they haven't marked it received?

I've had this happen to me before. The book was eventually marked as lost by the system.  I have pm'd the person but she really didn't receive the book.  USPS DC is not foolproof and they do deliver incorrectly some of the time.  I would pm the person showing her the details of the DC info and ask if she actually received it.  If not, you can file a report with USPS for them to try to track it.

normally I would say no, but it has been nearly 3 weeks.  maybe it is a new member that doesn't know they need to log in and mark it as received?  or they even still an active member?

did you receive a credit since the DC shows received?  you should have but they still need to mark it received!

I'd PM them and see what's up.  That would bug me to see it everday in my archive.

I know how you feel! I have two sitting on my account page right now!  It's been about 3 weeks since both books were delivered, and I've sent each of them 2 PMs. Neither have responded. :(

I have this same problem.   Two books remain in my Books I've mailed" list, which per DC have been delivered.   I wish they would be moved to my Transaction Archive.

I would absolutly PM the member.  I had a situation a couple weeks ago where I was waiitng for a book I ordered, but the system showed it having been scanned at my post office already.  When I checked there, they finally found it - they'd scanned it received, but never gave me the notice to let me know it was there!

Yeah, but I'd probably wait until after Thanksgiving(since it's tomorrow and all). Either way if you used PBS dc your guaranteed the credit:)

Definitely PM the person, but please remember to be polite, it may not be their fault! I just had my first book go lost (it was the sender's first book, too). Luckily she used DC when she mailed it. According to the USPS my book was delivered back on October 25th, but I still haven't seen it! =)

If you sent the book with PBS-DC and it has been recorded as delivered by USPS but hasn't been marked received yet:
  • Remember that the book could have been scanned as "delivered" at the local PO, before it went to the requestor's mailbox--the actual delivery can be a few days later  Also, the book could have been misdelivered.
  • You can contact the requestor using the button on the transaction on the Books I've Mailed tab in My Account when a few days have passed after delivery.
  • If the requestor does not respond to your PM within a few days, and/or has not marked the book received by a week after the delivery scan, contact us.  We will look into it.
  • You will already have gotten your credit when the barcode was scanned by USPS.

I had to have a book marked received for me. It was delivered and the receiver didn't respond to my pm. I contacted R&R and it was marked within a couple of hours.

I ordered one that was marked as being received in my town in early October but I never got it.  I don't know what happened.  The sender never PM'd me, but then again, I never PM'd her, as I was waiting for her to contact me first.  I sent one out that was declared LIM that I wonder if the person didn't actully receive but just didn't mark as such, but what can you do?    I also got one that fell under my car seat and I didn't find for a couple weeks.  I PM'd the sender and apologized for the delay in marking it as received, and she was really nice about it.

This has been happening to me with depressing regularity over the past two months. At least 6 times, I think.

A couple of times the individuals marked the books received without responding to my PMs.

Three times the individuals never responded to my messages. Consultation with PBS revealed their accounts were inactive, so when my book was declared lost in the mail I received credit for sending it.

Once the book got hung up somewhere in the postal system but eventually made its way to the requestor.

Utterly maddening......
