Does anyone know if the "events" information under the details button isn't working?  I mailed books with PBS postage on the 21st, went on vacation and come back to find nothing is recorded except for the DC #.  I'm talking 18 packages. When I clicked on the little map thingy out of curiosity I found that not working either so I'm hoping it's a PBS glitch and not something wrong on my end.

The last book I sent and the last book on its way to me are both just posting the DC#. I thought it was the first time my book didn't get scanned at my PO. Usually they are scanned even though I drop them of in the blue box outside.

Holiday slowdown?

OK - at least I'm not the only one!! :)   I won't worry that something went wildly wrong with all the books I sent then!

I'm having the same problem - my books are being received with no DC activity.

I had that with one of the last books I sent...for days it just had the DC #. This morning, before the receiver marked it as such, the events were all there but in the wrong order! It was marked as delivered before the DC information was received. Weird stuff.

This happened to me too on several books I sent right before and the day after Christmas. It was the same for ones someone sent to me at that time.   The ones I sent Friday are acting normal, though.

All of my maps of books enroute to me are showing no information.  That's 3 books showing that they're not on the map.  Definitely a system update problem or something.

Count me in.  Mailed a book on the 27th and all it's showing is the DC number.  Since it's heading from western Indiana to Illinois it will probably arrive at its destination today or tomorrow..  There's usually a 2-3 day delivery time to get from here to Illinois, but normally gets scanned in St. Louis on the way.

Its something wrong on the PBS site, but you can still copy and paste your tracking # on the USPS.com website.  That still shows all the scans.

I emailed R&R about this over the weekend.  There was a problem.  However, the books I have since sent out with DC are showing up fine.  Everything I have that is incoming/outgoing from about 12/18 through 12/26 has no information.

Bear in mind, too, that this is a busy time of year for the Post Office, and Media Mail are the last things to be tended.  If there isn't room on the truck, they have to wait for a truck that has room.  It is part of the trade off for the lower cost of Media Mail -- they're a lower mailing priority.  So it may be that books are just hanging out at a post office, waiting for space to move along.

Cheers,

Catt

I just checked on one I mailed yesterday.  The DC says I mailed it on 1/1/2009!  Not from my mailbox.

At swapaCD, I don't think the DC scans have ever worked.  It would be nice if they'd get it fixed, but I don't think that site is managed as efficiently as PBS.  Even though delivery confirmation is more expensive, I enjoy instant credit and knowing that I'm helping to support the site.
