Top this one if you can or explain it to me: I ordered a book from a member back in GA. Here's the history thus far: 6-4 electronic shipping info received - Dublin, GA 6-8 enroute - Macon, GA 6-8 enroute - Atlanta, GA 6-9 thru today 6-16 enroute - Memphis, TN . . . translates to: 6-9 (3) enroute scans - Memphis, TN 6-10 (4) enroute scans - Memphis, TN 6-11 (2) enroute scans - Memphis, TN 6-12 (1) enroute scan - Memphis, TN 6-15 (2) enroute scans - Memphis, TN 6-16 (2) enroute scans - Memphis, TN
That totals (14) enroute scans in Memphis, TN alone. What's going on here? And why can't they get it out of Memphis? I want my book!

For whatever reason, it's "looping", just going around and around on the machines they use to sort small parcels. There is a way to flag it, have it pushed aside into a special bin, and capture it and send it on the correct way. I will have to check when I get back to work tomorrow and tell you who to contact. Maybe someone else will come along before then who can tell you what to do/who to contact. If not, I will do it tomorrow. |

Sure, feel free. And by the way, after talking to two different people in Memphis on the 17th and having 3 scans that day, it's not been scanned again. I'm hoping that means the book is finally on it's way to me. (Had a total of 22 scans in Memphis.) |

The USPS closed the bulk mail facility in Atlanta a few months back. Since then every book I mail from GA goes through Memphis. Most times they are fairly quick, but sometimes Memphis likes to imitate Bell, CA as one of those USPS black holes. I have a package that I mailed this week that has had 2 scans in Memphis and since then, nothing. I hope that 'nothing' means it has escaped from Memphis and is on the way to its destination. |
