Last night a book was requested from me with this RC: Please send books in good conditon. Minimal wear and tight bindings. The book in question is in postable condition (and good condition, by my standards), but there is slight wear, so I rejected the request, saying that my book did not meet the RC. The same book has been requested again from me with the exact same RC. Am I to assume that this is the same person? How can this happen? I thought that if I selected that the book does not meet the RC, that I am passed up in the FIFO line by that person. Am I correct in thinking this? Any help is greatly appreciated. :) |

Is your book the only copy in the system? If it is that could be why the request was sent back to you. |

It looks like that is the case, Leslie. But, I would think that because I denied the RC that this person would not be able to order from me. |

It used to be that way, but they changed the system so that people could re-request a book that had been turned down due to their RCs. What I would do is turn down the RC again with something like "Cannot meet RC as written. This copy is in postable condition, but has some slight wear which makes me hesitant to accept this RC. This is currently the only copy of this book in the system. If you want to re-request it at this time, please remove your RCs or wait to reorder the book until there are other copies available in the system as your request will just keep coming back to me." |

I agree with Melanie. This will give the requestor the opportunity to either edit their RC or request with their RC turned off so they can get your book. Hopefully they'll choose to edit, b/c I feel like that RC is a little too subjective. |

That sounds perfect! Thanks, Melanie. |
