Has anyone read this? I read it years ago and remember I did like it.  I just found it again and was going to read it again....

I have had a copy for years, and I have started it, but set it aside. I can't remember why now. Maybe I should pull it back out. Wait, I might have decided to postpone reading it because I felt like I needed to learn more about Napoleon and the time period before reading this book. That's very possible.

I was trying to remember the title of another book I found and read about her not too long ago. It was an older book, probably published in the 50's or 60's, maybe about 300 pages long, and I think the author referred to her as Eugenie, not Desiree. Does anyone know who else has written a book about her? The full name is Bernardine Eugénie Désirée Clary. I'd love to find this book again!

I might be mistaken, but didn't Thomas Costain write a book called Desiree years ago in the 50s or 60s that was made into a movie?

I read this when I was about 15 (which was a long, long time ago).  I think I found it on my mother's bookshelf.  I remember liking it.
