Have you ever accidently messed up a book especially a wishlist book? I just had about a dragon ( a heavily wishlisted book) get pushed in the dishwater by my cat.

Oh no, lol, sorry but that made me giggle. Yes, my dog unfortunately has chewed up a few books when she's wanted a snack. So disappointing, especially when it's a wishlist book to send out.

I dropped one in a puddle right in front of the post office.  Way down into the four inches of muck.

If it's still readable you can post it in the book bazaar in the unpostable WL thread and get a credit for it. If you don't get a taker, there is another site (not nearly as busy) where the requestor pays the postage and you can specify condition. You never know.

I dropped a heavily wish listed book into a hot tub on vacation once. Now I only take unpostable books on vacation, lol.

I drop several per year in the tub, or forget and touch them with wet fingers - almost always a popular/wishlisted book.  That is one of the reasons why I use PBS.  I won't take library books (or my tablet/ebook reader) into the bathtub.

The book is very readable still.  However, it now smells.  It there anyway to help eliminate the smell? 2) If I send it to someone with actual good postable books, will this smell leak off onto the other books?

I had a stack of WL books, I was getting ready to send out and I set them down on a windowsill not seeing that it was soaked from that days storm  :(

A couple years ago I sat down at my desk with a book I'd finished reading.  I was planning on reposting it.

Then I knocked over my cup of water.  Onto the book.
