It's pretty to look at, but the plot is derivative and the characters are uninspiring. Not the most interesting version of "man creates machine, machine achieves sentience, machine multiplies, machines drive mankind nearly to extinction, mankind fights back" you're going to find. And the budding love-at-first sight romance between machine and man doesn't add a whole lot.
