woman's sister embezzled money from her employer and trying to return the money for her, the employer's son who's now in charge wants her to sleep with him in order to not press charges. Then end up married instead and things go well til he catches her with his brother and doens't appear to believe her and compares her to her 'whore' mother. sort of typical of the late 70s to mid 80s harlequins (think this was 1983) powerful, ruthless male character. Usually I enjoy this type of story in doses but this one wasn't my type but it has a happy ending as usual. I find it interesting to read older romances and see how far we've come!
