Interesting story, but went off into the metaphysical deep end near the end of the story, which I didn't particularly enjoy. I was annoyed by the use of Afrikaaner throughout the book; I had to flip to the glossary in the back, and I don't feel the sprinkling of words really added anything to the story. I got lazy and just made up my own meanings for the words.
