This was so boring and overblown that I truly never finished reading it, but the reason that I got it to begin with was that it got good reviews from other readers

I really liked this book, but I didn't love it, and I think it was because the multiple directions Kat Martin took her protagonists in really took away from well-developed characters. The first phase of the book is the revenge piece that brings the two together. From there, though, the remainder of the book felt like a "Scarlet Pimpernel" re-hash, and that's where things lost believability. By the epilogue, Kat Martin brings back a small storyline from the first phase of the book to give the final happy ending, and I will admit, I rolled my eyes and closed the book.

This was the first time I felt compelled to write a review, because I don't think the characters are boring, and the sensual scenes are definitely fulfilling, but you have to be really patient with the content all around that. I did give other Kat Martin books a chance, and I loved those, for sure.

This was a great read, super exciting storyline and the characters were wonderful. You can feel the tension and sizzle between them. A great read.
