I like the premise of the book more than the actual way it was written. The idea of two people marrying, both with hidden reasons could be an interesting one. But the characters are written with little depth, especially Alex and the process of the two falling in love isn't really shown here. The secondary romance in this book also didn't work for me. Elizabeth actually wanted to look drab for a reason and she plans and schemes for a reason. She's the only other good thing about this book.
