This book, like The Imitation of Christ (a'Kempis) is intense, powerful and eminently re-readable. I am ashamed to say this is the first Bernanos work I have read. Now I am in the hunt to read all his works I can find. I don't read novels as a rule- but I am sure pleased with this one- God Bless. Ray R.
