Oliver Twist is a WONDERFUL book--almost as good as David Copperfield. :-)

I actually like Oliver Twist more than David Copperfield.  But you really can't go wrong with Dickens.

True!

I would add, though, that if you're going to read The Pickwick Papers, don't try and read it as one whole novel, or you won't enjoy it as much. It was originally published by the chapter in newspapers, so each one is more of it's own little story than all of them being one long one. I know, because I'm about half-way through it, and while I'm enjoying it, I realize that I started to read it with the wrong idea in my head. Read a chapter every week, or something, and it will be better, in my opinion. :-)
