My husband posted SAIL by James Patterson.  SAIL is on 6 peoples' wish lists.  The ISBN # is different but both are hard copy, the dust covers are identical.  When I run my cursor over each book the differences are the ISBNs and the number of pages.  One book has 400 pages; one has 496 pages.  Could the actual size of the book account for the difference in pages.  Just wondering if the books are different in content.  Any insight would be helpful.  Thanks in advance.

One could be large print, which would account for the extra 96 pages. Just a guess...

One could be the book club edition and one could be the regular hardcover. The sizes are typically different between the regular and book club editions.

According to Amazon the one with people wishing for it is large print http://www.amazon.com/Sail-James-Patterson/dp/list/0316024600

Even if they were identical in content it would still be against the rules to post a book by anything other than the ISBN number listed on the book itself.

Thanks everyone! Mystery solved. I didn't notice that the wish list copy was large print but it probably says so in the description. The book is listed by the correct ISBN which means it didn't link to the wish list-thus the question in the first place. Again, thanks

Actually, it didn't mention it anywhere. There is a tag on it now but I put it there when I found it earlier and submitted a request that large print be added to the title.  You didn't miss a thing!

Sometimes the database is a bit lacking in information.

Also sometimes with books like this that were originally released in several formats-you get random ones that stay WL long after every other version becomes super heavily posted.  I just always assumed those last straggling WL ones that aren't audio or lrg print are probably inactive accounts and that version is rarely posted.

Then again I frequently see those 5 digit ISBNs generrated by PBS on the WL of regular forum posters.  And not for out of print books that never had an ISBN but recently published ones that are wishable under their correct ISBN.
