Excellent series of stories. Traditional sword and sorcery with a dash of dark humor.

An enjoyable sword-and-sorcery book, half-elf Dilvish and his demonic steel-bodied horse Black were originally published in a series of short stories in the 60s; this is an anthology of those stories, along with three new ones to fill it out. Dilvish is a hero with a difference, who uses small bits of occult knowledge, a fine grasp of tactics, and a skill with swords to try to find the sorcerer who wronged him.

Not the best Zelazny, by any means. Collection of short stories centred on Dilvish, recent escapee from Hell, and his companion, a demon in the shape of a black metal horse. Lightweight.

As noted before, definitely not the strongest of Zelazny's work. But what a fun little read - these are short stories compiled into one book and they're creative and full of fantasy favorites - vampires, demons, summoning, etc. etc. You'll fly through this - I read it in two days!

An unusual style of writing. More like a bunch of short stories. Not really my thing, but I could see how it might appeal to some people.
