This is an excellent book for anyone interested in the microscopic world. It covers basic microscopes and lens setups, illumination, etc. Many types of animalcules found in such places as pond water are covered extensively. There is an interesting section on the Venus fly trap as well as several other forms of plant life. I highly recommend this book to those having an interest in understanding what they see with the microscope.
